Lynn D. Reed, 66, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 16, 2016 following a brief illness. Born October 18, 1949 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late David J. and Hazel K. Young Reed. Lynn was a 1967 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and was employed at Manitowoc in Shady Grove, PA for forty-two years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association and was an avid outdoorsman and reader. He enjoyed family vacations and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Lynn is survived by his wife, Patricia Swope Reed, whom he married May 2, 1970; two sons, Michael L. Reed of Williamsport, MD and Jeffrey A. Reed and wife Myra of Westminster, MD; three grandchildren, Allison M. Reed, Joshua A. Reed, and Ronan D. Reed; a brother, Roy Reed; two sisters, Patricia Deardorff and Doris Robinson; a sister-in-law, Wanetta Reed; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Jr., Roy, and Ray Reed and a sister, Zelma Kyler. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.
