Jonathan Booher

Jonathan Matthew Booher, 40, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Hershey Medical Center. Born April 3, 1976, in Chambersburg, he was a son of JoAnn Steiner Booher Bowers of Chambersburg and the late James M. Booher who preceded him in death on October 30, 2011. He attended the Cumberland Valley Christian School and graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1993. He was with the Navy Sea Cadets, Sea Devil Division for six years then went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy. Jonathan attended Penn State University in Mont Alto. A computer technician, he was previously employed at Computer Tutor and currently was self-employed. He previously attended The Open Door Church and was currently attending the Brethren Fellowship in Chambersburg. Jonathan loved animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed martial arts, computers, art, and photography and had some of his work displayed in a gallery. A very giving person, he enjoyed helping others and had a great love for his Lord and for reading the Bible. Jonathan loved music and played several instruments including the violin and harmonica. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and was a dreamer of ideas and inventions. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father, Dave Bowers of Chambersburg; two sisters, Joelle Zack and husband William of New Cumberland and Jayna Booher and companion Shawn Hassler of Chambersburg; nieces and nephews, Derek Booher of Chambersburg, Amanda Booher of Chambersburg, Daniel Booher and companion Nancy Olton of Shippensburg, Corianne Petesich of Harrisburg, Bruce Suders of Chambersburg, and Tao Hassler of Chambersburg; and his great-nephew, Ace Booher of Shippensburg. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his fiancé, Laura K. Springer and his brother, James Booher, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2016, at The Open Door Church, 600 Miller St., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to True North Wellness Services, 272 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to The Open Door Church at the above address. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
