Helen Hobbs

Helen M. Hobbs, 90, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Monday morning, August 22, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg. Born November 18, 1925 in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late Mary K. Noll Cook. Helen was employed early in her life in the dietary department at the South Mountain Restoration Center and went on to work in the dietary department of the former Franklin County Nursing Home for twenty-six years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Fayetteville Church of God. Her husband, Frank Hobbs, whom she married in September of 1942, preceded her in death on December 1, 1985. She is survived by six children, Judith M. Rock of Chambersburg, Linda L. Null of Fayetteville, Frank M. Hobbs of Marion, Patsy A. Rock of Fayetteville, John Hobbs of Chambersburg, and Sue Reasner of Fayetteville; her daughter-in-law, Linda Hobbs of Greencastle; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Richard, John, and Gary Cook, all of Fayetteville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Hobbs on March 8, 2013, and a granddaughter, Tammy Rock on March 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, August 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
