Ethel Brandt

Ethel Mae Brandt, 74, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016, at her home. Born January 30, 1942, in Mount Union, PA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond S. and Blanche M. Secrest Jenkins. Ethel was employed at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She was a homemaker most of her life and stayed home to raise her children. She was a member of Hudson United Methodist Church in Hudson, OH and was very active in the church where she volunteered with the women’s auxiliary. Ethel was an exceptional organizer and a great mother to her children and devoted spouse. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard S. “Dick” Brandt, Jr., whom she married on July 6, 1963; two children, Paula Goodhart and husband Brian, and Richard S. Brandt III and wife Heather, both of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Logan and Connor Goodhart, and Megan and Ethan Brandt; and her brother, Raymond S. Jenkins, Jr. In addition to her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ocker. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Rick Noll will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
