Donna Jean Beeler Stoops Sollenberger, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, August 19, 2016 at her home. Born September 25, 1937 in Washington Township, PA, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Edgar and Pearl Nettie Chamberlin Beeler. She was employed at the former Holiday Inn in Chambersburg for thirty-four years and later retired from Providence Place after fifteen years of employment as Activity Director. Additionally, she owned and operated Donna’s Candles and Gifts in Greenvillage for more than ten years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Greenvillage. Donna collected dolls and had a great love for cats. Her husband, Dale E. Sollenberger, whom she married July 31, 1976, preceded her in death on January 19, 2013. She is survived by five children, Rodney B. Stoops, Jr. (wife Karen) of St. Thomas, Jeffrey A. Stoops (wife Robin) of St. Thomas, Brian L. Stoops (wife Debbie) of Chambersburg, Laurie A. Miller (Howard Faust) of Chambersburg, and Darla M. Shank (husband Greg) of Waynesboro; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois Kershner of Chambersburg; and her brother, William Beeler of Greencastle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Curtis L. Stoops on February 9, 1981; three brothers, Paul, Gary, Steve Beeler; and a sister, Linda Martin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Ruth Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
