Betty L. Chilcutt, 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday morning, September 8, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 8, 1936 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Kriner Brown. A homemaker most of her life, she was employed at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg for a number of years. She was a member of The Open Door Church and the Jolly 60’s. She enjoyed word search puzzles, mowing her grass, shoveling snow, tending to her garden, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Chilcutt is survived by her husband, Ralph Chilcutt, Jr., whom she married March 22, 1954; four children, Sharon Salmon and husband John of Chambersburg, Lynn Richardson of Chambersburg, Chris Chilcutt and wife Teresa of Mercersburg, and Mike Chilcutt and wife Angela Maatman of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Tomika, Justin, Cody, Cassie, Emily, and Maggie; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Russell Brown and wife Doris of Fayetteville and Raymond Brown and wife Joyce of Chambersburg; two sisters, Kathy Beck and husband Paul of Fayetteville and Theresa Naugle of Orrtanna; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Arthur Brown and John Brown; and two sisters, Mary Brown and Karen Boyd. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 12, 2016 at The Open Door Church, 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Monday at the church.
