Donald Claypoole

Donald G. “Mousie” Claypoole, 82, Bellwood died unexpectedly Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Worthington son of the late Wade S. and Vera G. (Gaiser) Claypoole. He married Roberta J. Blondeaux on Aug. 2, 1954 in Winchester, Va. and she preceded him in death on Feb. 22, 2000. Surviving are three daughters, Susan L. (James) Forshey of Antis Township, Margaret A. (Greg) Davis of Blandburg, and Tina M. (Robert) Rossman of Bellwood; two sons, Donald G., Jr. of Blue Knob and Richard P. of Bellwood; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Doris Wagner of Sharon, Freda Peechatka of Poconos, and Shirley Higginson of Worthington. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven J. Claypoole. Don was a graduate of Worthington High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed as a milk tester with Blair County DHIA and he retired in 1996 as a lineman at PPG Industries, Tipton after 23 years of service. Don was a member of Logan’s Valley Baptist Church Bellwood for 56 years where he served as Deacon and head usher. He enjoyed going on the boat with Jim and the rest of the family and also riding his John Deere tractor and skid loader. Don was an avid fan of Bellwood-Antis Football and loved attending the games. Friends will be received from 5-8pm Wednesday, June 22, 2016 and 10 – 11am Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will be held at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Don’s memory be made to Logan's Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood or Blair County Veterans Honor Guard PO Box 114 Duncansville, PA 16635
