Vivian Paul Hood River, Oregon Obituary

Vivian Paul

Vivian Renee (Fitch Brown) Paul of Hood River, Oregon went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2016. Vivian was born in Portland, Oregon on August 26, 1931 to Lucille and Byron Fitch and was 85 at the time of her passing. She graduated in 1949 from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon. A few years earlier, at Irvington Elementary School in Portland she met her husband to be, Dale Brown. She and Dale were married in 1952, with John Mitchell, founder of Multnomah School of the Bible officiating. Together they raised three children and shared a happy, adventurous life together. Vivian was a kind, loving wife and mother. She immensely enjoyed her church families and also became interested and accomplished in oil and water color painting. She took homemaking to another level, with an artful eye, pouring her whole heart into her home and family. She treasured her travels to Europe with Dale where she gathered more inspiration for her paintings. She will be remembered for her happy, positive attitude and ability to make long lasting friendships, personally helping and encouraging so many people along the way. She considered herself fortunate to join a tour group to Israel and a mission trip with CMA to Guatemala. In 1990, her husband, Dale passed away; in 1996 she was blessed to be married to Norman Paul of Hood River. Together they relished almost 20 years of marriage, and delightful companionship. They enjoyed family events, church activities, traveling across America and close friendships with so many wonderful people. Vivian is preceded in death by her infant son, Roger Lang Brown, and husband, R. Dale Brown. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Lee Paul, her children; Mark Dale Brown, Colette Brook England (husband, Steve), Daniel Matthew Brown ( wife, Kim), as well as 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and countless friends. She left a legacy of devoted prayer, joy through thankfulness, daily faith in Jesus Christ, and a deep appreciation toward her Creator in every aspect of her life. God gave Vivian the grace she needed to progress through dementia, and the gift of Norman, unwavering by her side. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Columbia Gorge Young Life, P.O. Box 1186, Hood River, OR, 97031.In high school, Vivian credited Young Life as a large contributor to her spiritual journey. A celebration of life service will be 11 am, Saturday, November 5th at Hood River CMA Church (2650 Montello Ave.), where she was a member. Private graveside services at Willamette National Cemetery will precede her celebration of life.
