Sandra Lee Connelly

Sandra Lee Connelly passed away August 19, 2016 in Hood River, Oregon. She was born November 27, 1946 and was 69 at the time of her passing. Sandra was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Theodore C. and Mabel (Holmberg) Ricketts. She moved with her family to The Dalles, Oregon and graduated from Watonka High School Class of 1965. On September 22, 1965 she married Michael Connelly in The Dalles and had two children; Kathryn “Shawn” Marie and Christopher Michael. The family lived in The Dalles with a brief stint in Anchorage, Alaska in 1984 and then to Hood River in 1987 where she has resided since. Michael passed away on September 9, 2012. She loved her family and opportunities to be with them, Sandra also enjoyed; making beaded jewelry, fishing, gardening, shopping on QVC and traveling. Sandra was an active homemaker, mother and grandmother but she also worked as a secretary for the The Dalles Police Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Portland. Sandra is survived by her daughter, Sawn Marie Conner and husband, Richard of The Dalles, Oregon; son Chris Connelly and his wife, Lori of Sweet Home, Oregon; grandchildren, Jason, Johnathan, Michael, Brenna, Liam & Ciaran; great granddaughter, Lily Ann; brother, Gary R. Ricketts of Naperville, Illinois; two sisters, Shirley Hovda of The Dalles, Oregon and Linda M. Jones of Durango, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews and friends she has collected over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers (Theodore & David) and sister (Cynthia).
