Erma Huot

Erma Huffsmith Huot passed away Sept. 8, 2016 in The Dalles, Ore. At Cascade Senior Care. She was 95 at the time of her passing. She was born on May 7, 1921 to Albert Schuh and Martha Hart Schuh of Hazen, North Dakota-one of 13 children. The Family moved to Bingen, WA. in 1935. She worked at various jobs in the area prior to her marriage to Edwin Huffsmith. She always said Edwin was the love of her life. They lived in White Salmon, Wa., and Erma worked at the cannery in Hood River, Ore. Shortly before his death they moved to Hood River, Ore. After Edwin passed away, Erma met and married Roy Huot. After his passing, Erma could no longer live alone and moved to Parkhurst in Hood River, Ore., then she lived at Carolyn’s in The Dalles, Ore., and finally at Cascade Senior Care in The Dalles, Ore. Erma is survived by her son, Marvin Huffsmith and his wife Sharon of White Salmon, Wa., sisters Viola Starkey and Esther Hansen, and brother Frank Schuh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. At Erma’s request there will be no services.
