William A. Knox, 74, of Grants Pass died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at his home.
Services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery, with Ken Bern, pastor, officiating.
He was born June 16, 1934, in Pasadena, Calif., to William and Catherine Knox.
During the Korean War, he served in the Army from Nov. 9, 1954, until his honorable discharge on Sept. 21, 1956.
On Nov. 2, 1957, in Las Vegas, he married Mary-Jo Sibert, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 2000 from Tehachapi, Calif.
For 35 years, he worked in advance development in aerospace.
For the past two years, he was a volunteer bailiff and deputy sheriff in Josephine County.
He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Ray Knox of Grants Pass, and Jeff Knox of Ponca City, Okla.; four daughters, Denise Dufon of Encinitas, Calif., Kim Carlson and Vanessa Ferree, both of Lancaster, Calif., and Vicki Braaton of Grants Pass; and 15 grandchildren.
