Clifford Carson Simpson of Grants Pass and Roseburg Oregon passed on July 27th 2012 from sudden acute liver and kidney failure. He was born into a military family on January 7th 1959 in Bellingham WA and traveled all over the United States and overseas as a child. The family settled in Roseburg where Cliff attended Hucrest Elementary and Jo Lane Jr. High. He attended Southern Oregon State College - playing a year of football and graduating with a BA in Political Science.
Cliff held the position of head waiter at many establishments in California and Southern Oregon. He loved to cook from scratch and was an adventuresome gourmand – his Key Lime pie was a family favorite. He loved all sports especially football and “his team” was the SF 49ers with a distant second the UO Ducks. A voracious reader, he was a consummate Sci-Fi & Fantasy aficionado and was always intellectually ahead of the popular trends in culture, literature, politics and the environment. Cliff was a standup comedian at heart and would always have a good joke to share with everyone.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Page Simpson and beloved Aunt Mary Jean Carsey. His immediate surviving family includes longtime partner and mother of his children Jennifer Mock, and their three children -- Emily, Cameron and Rebekah. He is survived by his father Bob Simpson and step-mom Barb; his brother Rob Simpson and wife Victoria; his sister Kathy Simpson Okimoto and husband Wayne, nephew Mike Okimoto and niece Carole Okimoto Searle along with their families; and the Page family Aunts’ Susie Page and Maxine “Jackie” Page Hager; his Simpson family Aunts’ Ileen Simpson Hart and Faye Simpson Lail and their families; along with numerous cousins and family members of the Simpson-Page-Mock clans.
