Private family services have been held for Thomas A. Rood, 62, of Geneva.<br><br>Mr. Rood passed away Monday, July 4, 2016.<br><br>Born October 9, 1953 in Conneaut, he was a lifelong Ashtabula County resident.<br><br>He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era as a Machinists Mate First Class onboard the USS Thomas A. Edison. He was also a member of Evergreen Lodge 222 F. & A.M. in Conneaut and enjoyed horseback riding.<br><br>Mr. Rood was employed as a technical writer at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.<br><br>Survivors are his daughters, Julie and Maria; sister, Margaret “Peg” (Jeff) Kinsey and brother, Bob Rood. He also leaves his daughters' mother, Iris Bridgens.<br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary (Hiscock) Rood and brother, G.T.
