Ms. Laurie Gallop, 77 of Mentor passed away July 19, 2016 at her home. She was born February 4, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Lucy (Schmidt) Gallop. Ms. Gallop was formerly known as Sister Mary Teran, SND and was a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame from 1957 to 1983. She taught at St. Joseph High School in Euclid and retired in 2001 as School Psychologist and Guidance Counselor at Lake Catholic High School. Ms. Gallop is survived by her sister Gail (Edward) Crooks of Mentor, half brothers Stephen Gallop of Tuscon, AZ and Lawrence Gallop of Portland, OR; niece Anne (Terry) Reese of Geneva; nephews, Edward Crooks and Alan Crooks; great niece Sheila Pesta and great nephews Dustin Crooks and Tyler Crooks; great great niece and nephews Eve, Zane, Gavin and Blaze Pesta, and Savannah Crooks She was preceded in death by her parents and half brother Earl Gallop and half sister Cheryl. Visitation will be held Friday from 10 to Noon at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:30 Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio with Rev. Tom Elsasser officiating. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
