Zena C. Brown, 73, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2016 at Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield. She was born in Clearco, West Virginia on November 5, 1942 and was the daughter of Earnie and Arbana (Murphy) Stanley. She has been a resident of Ashland since 1962. Zena had worked as an assistant cook and then cook at the Good Shepherd Home and later had worked at the Hedstrom Company in Ashland as a machine operator until the company closed. On March 24, 1962 she was married to Hill D. Brown who preceded her in death on March 20, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ernest L. Brown in 2011, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one son, Harold D. (Lisa) Brown of Berthold, ND; four grandchildren, Mitchell, Zachary, Hunter and Hailey Brown; one sister, Zenetta (David) Adkins of Hilliard, IL; and one brother, Elvin (Sandy) Stanley of Rupert, W.VA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Strachan officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday July 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
