Nancy L. Sample Burkhart, 48

Nancy L. Sample Burkhart, 48, of Hayesville, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 in University Hospital in Cleveland.

She was born December 3, 1967 in Ashland to the late E. Duane and Lilly B. (nee Cranmore) Sample.
Nancy graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1986. She was a sales clerk in several retail venues and drove truck in her life.

She married Delbert Burkhart, December 27, 1997.

Nancy was a member of the First Brethren Church on 3rd Street in Ashland in her earlier years. Along with her mother Lilly, Nancy made ceramics and dolls. She also crocheted and did needlework. Nancy was an animal lover throughout her life. She enjoyed playing cards and board games; and watching comedy sitcoms with her mother; and visiting with her friends.

She is survived by two brothers, Joe S. Whitt of Hayesville and William (Sharon) Sample of Ashland; two sisters, Rebecca (Joe) McCormick of Ashland, and Elizabeth A. Rush and her life partner Frank Austin of Mansfield; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of seven years of marriage, Delbert Burkhart whom passed away, March 3, 2004; an infant sister, Mary Jane Sample; one brother, Randy Sample; and a brother-in-law, Chester P. Rush Jr.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Don Earlenbaugh officiating. A private interment will be in the Dickey Cemetery on Wednesday. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
