Harry A. Long, 91 Harry A. Long, 91, of Nova, Ohio passed away early Thursday morning July 7, 2016 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Harry was born March 1, 1925 in Fairmont, West Virginia and was the son of the late Orval and Irene (Shelton) Long. He had been a resident of the Ashland area since moving here in 1950. He worked in the shipping department at Westinghouse Corporation for 27 years retiring in 1984. Harry served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps where he was the recipient of the Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters and a Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Savannah and the VFW Post 1067 in Ashland. On June 25, 1945 he was married to Reve M. Wine who preceded him in death. He is survived by four daughters, Barbara (Tom) Atherton of Ashland; Judith Clevenger of Phoenix, Arizona; Rena Long of Louisiana; and Cynthia Vanriper of Mansfield; four sons, Ernest (Trish) Long of Ashland; Roger Long of Mansfield; Ronald Long of Mansfield; Gary Lewis of Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Lora Craig of Shelby and Carol Perry of Kentucky; and one brother, Kenneth Long of Shinnston, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife Reve M. Long, two sons, Richard and Russell Long; two sisters, Pauline Martin and Beulah Hardisty; and one brother, Leroy Long. Entombment will be Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum with Reverend John Bouquet officiating. The Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Friends may call, two hours prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
