Betty Kiplinger

Betty Jane Kiplinger, 88 Betty Jane Kiplinger, 88, of Ashland passed away, Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Hospice of North Central Ohio. She was born on April 24, 1928 in Ashland to the late Ralph and Blanche (nee Pittinger) Richard. Betty graduated from Ashland High School in 1946. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University. She married James Dwight Kiplinger on September 19, 1948. Betty retired in 1990 after more than 20 years from First Christian Church where she was Secretary. She and her husband, Jim worked with Linn Enterprises, helping out with the family business serving gyros at area county fairs for more than 35 years. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Church where she served as an elder, taught Sunday school, and played the violin for many years. She was a member of the Christian Women Fellowship for more than 40 years. Betty loved to travel with her husband and family and cherished the time spent with her granddaughter. Betty is survived by her daughter, Molly (Doug) Riley of Ashland; one son, Gary (Sherri) Kiplinger of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Morgan Riley and Krista and Kreig Kiplinger. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Richard and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, 1425 King Road, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Richard Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
