Mr. Joseph Faggart, 82, of 1413 Melviney Street, Street, passed away at his home on Friday, August 19, 2016, following an extended illness. He was born in Cabarrus County on April 6, 1934, and was the son of the late Edward Faggart and Rebecca Robinson. He was married to Peggy Joann Steele Faggart, who preceded him in death. Three siblings, Margaret Asbury, Gilbert Faggart and Edward Faggart, Jr., also preceded him in death.

He attended schools in Cabarrus County and was employed by Cannon Mills as a Machine Operator prior to his retirement. He loved to cook and work on yards. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, three daughters, Leslie (Charlie) Stafford of Concord, Sharon A. Holt of Thomasville, Alabama and Peggy Faggart Blackburn of the home; three siblings, Mary Parks of Thomas River, New Jersey, Stanley Robinson and Carolyn Robinson, both of Concord; two sisters-in-law, Naileen Steele and Eddie Lee Faggart, both of Concord; seven grandchildren, Timothy Faggart of Lexington, Maryland, Shawnshuray (Maurice) Mosley of Lexington, Keeyonia Luckey of Lexington, Josiah Stafford of New York City, New York, Vannah Stafford of Pennsylvania, Marcus Faggart of Thomasville, Alabama and Marquise Faggart of Thomasville, Alabama, thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.

Mr. Faggart will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. General viewing will begin on Monday, August 22, 2016, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m.
