Rev. James Frank Hollifield age 86 of Pinetops, NC died Wednesday at his home. He was a native of Cleveland County and a member of Oak View Baptist Church in Rocky Mount NC. Rev. Hollifiled was a Baptist Minister for several church pastorates-Bald Mountain, Stone Mountian, Dysartville, Wilson, Oak View, Cool Spring, Oak Woods, Avalon, Creech Memorial and Union Hope. He was a member of Fruitland's Institute's first graduating class of 1947. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Alice Hardin Hollifield; sons Rev. Donald Hollifield of Rutherfordton and James Hollifield of Pinetops; daughters Jean Taylor and Rita Winders of Rocky Mount; sisters Dorothy McClellan of Stark, Fl and Martha Toney of Bostic; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his parents John Lloyd and Mary Maybelle Doster Hollifield, Four Brothers and One Sister Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Sunday March 29, 2009 at Piney Knob Baptist Church . Vistation will be from 2-4 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev's Don Hollifield, Rick Wall, Steven Cooper and Mr. R.L. Hardin will be officiating.
