John Steadham

John Michael Steadham, 75, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. Born in Gainesville, FL, he was the son of the late John M. Steadham and Elva Bachmann Steadham. John was a US Marine veteran and a deputy sheriff in Leon County Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida School of Law with honors and practiced as an attorney in Gainesville. He was Methodist by faith. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julie D. Steadham; one daughter, Sharon Steadham Jackson of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Justin M. Steadham of Franklin; one sister, Patricia Steadham Craig of Gainesville, FL and one granddaughter, Kaylyn Grace Jackson. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 4th in the North Georgia National Veterans Cemetery. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or Appalachian Animal Rescue, PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744.
