Gladys Hooper

Gladys Davis Hooper, 89, of Franklin, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, September 12, 2016. Born in Whittier, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jarrett Davis and Ollie Wykle Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Hooper; one daughter, Janie Matthews, and nine brothers and sisters. Gladys was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church where she was a member of WMU and Sunday school. She loved going to church and most importantly, supporting her husband Rev. Wesley Hooper in his ministries and marriage of 72 glorious years. She was a caregiver at heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Karen Burch and husband Donald of Franklin; one son, Rev. Davis Hooper and wife Sandra of Franklin; two brothers, Dallas Davis of Canton, NC and Hanley Davis of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Ocie Stinnett of Mills River, NC; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15th at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Bryan Davis, Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14th at Macon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CarePartners Hospice, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
