Donny Dorman Gibson, 63, of Franklin, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Dorman Dale Gibson and Nina Lou Elmore Gibson. Donny performed with community choirs and orchestra. He was a member and music director of Cullowhee Baptist Church. He played piano, organ and oboe. He previously taught piano and oboe and served with mission trips to Mexico. He is survived by four sisters, Peggy Ramey and husband Michael of Franklin, Beverly Webb and husband Gary of Nashville, TN, Sandy Harrell and husband Michael of Lewisburg, NC and Joy Dorling of Franklin; seven nieces and nephews and eleven great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Enloe and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7th at Macon Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brandon Tippett, Jerome Dorling, Chris Dorling, Jason Dorling, Kyle Tippett and David Ramey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Caleb Dorling, Daniel Tippett, Kevin Dills, Isaac Schramm, Joshua Schramm and Sydney Schramm.
