Betty Wood Foxx, 68, of Sylva, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016. Born in Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Wood and Fannie Mae Keener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Cathy Cabe Foxx. She was a member of Watauga Baptist Church. Betty was a founding member of Sylva Partners in Renewal, an organizer of the Sylva Christmas Parade for over 20 years and founding board member of the Jackson County Athletic Hall of Fame. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill Fox, son, Barry Foxx and wife Nancy of Cullowhee, NC, daughter, Belinda Bryson and husband Rick of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, Ty Foxx and wife, Kieran, Haley Foxx, Kajol Patel, Autumn Bryson, Mitch Wike, Macy Wike; great grandchildren, Sloan Foxx, Zabel Foxx; and special friend, Kathy Wilson and her daughter, Tonya Snider and her children, Tristen, Sawyer and Eli. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wesley Price, Rev. Josh Hyde, Rev. David Williams and Rev. Rusty Wolfrey will officiate. Burial will be in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylva, NC. Pallbearers will be J.J. McCall, George Roper, John Hartley, Roger Bishop, Ray Sanders and Larry Bishop. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
