Sapphire – Betty Henderson Wilson Thomas, 67, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt went home to live with her heavenly Father on Friday, September 30, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with a terminal illness. Betty crossed over peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the daughter of the late James and Lora Bell Miller Henderson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Harry Wilson, two brothers; Thomas and James B. Henderson and a grandson, Gavin Slade Jones. The presence of her smile and quick wit will be missed by those that knew her and loved her. Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Iric Thomas, son; Jamie Wilson of Lake Toxaway, daughters; Lynn Hubbard and husband Chan of Pisgah Forest, Renay Jones and husband Parks of York, SC and Michelle Robson and husband Randy of Blythewood, SC, twin sister; Martha Wolfe and husband Robert of Brevard, sisters; Faye Carson of Brevard, Gail Jones of Lake Toxaway, Mina Smith of Brevard and Bonnie Watson of Asheville and grandchildren; Emilee, Cameron, William, Kennedy, Toby and Mackenzie. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome however, donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery fund, 649 Kim Miller Mountain Road, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747.
