Marion Taylor

Marion Elmer Taylor, 87, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Baptist Health in Richmond. Marion was born in Buncombe County, NC to the late Olen V. and Laura Russell Taylor. He started his working career with General Electric. He then transitioned into the banking industry for a number of years. He retired from Medical Collections in 1997 to enjoy his favorite pastime, woodworking. He was a member of the Berea Church of Christ and a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Ruth Bartlett Taylor; one son, Doug (Nancy) Taylor; and one sister, Evelyn Hart. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals in Black Mountain, NC. Burial will follow in the Black Mountain City Cemetery in Black Mountain. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea, KY from 6-9 pm and Thursday from 1-2 pm prior to the funeral service at Harwood Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1466, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
