Martin Mikowski

Martin “Marty” Mikowski, 81 of Benton Harbor, MI., passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Marty was born on July 30, 1927 in Traverse City, MI. Marty married Dorothy Rock on November 26, 1949 in Benton Harbor, MI. Marty worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 40 years and as a St. Joseph Public School bus driver for 20 years. He was a member of the Stevensville American Legion. He was a loving and caring dad. He loved many sports with a special fondness for fishing on Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marty had a special spot in his heart for a special friend, Debbie Yates. He will be forever missed. Marty is survived by his wife Dorothy and his son, Robbin “Rob” Mikowski of Mattawan, MI. He is also survived by three sisters, Katherine Davis; Mary Baker and Agnes Cozalino. He was preceded in death by his father Michael; his mother Anna; his son John and several brothers and sisters.
