Tyrone Roberts NYACK, New York Obituary

Tyrone Roberts

Tyrone “Mookie” Bryant Roberts Jr. was born February 20, 1985 to Simanetta Dove and Tyrone Bryant Roberts Sr. in Nyack, NY. At six months old Tyrone was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia. Doctors told his parents that Tyrone would not live past 25, and that if he did his quality of life would not be ideal. From the beginning Tyrone showed strength and courage when battling his illness. Throughout the years Tyrone surpassed every limitation and obstacle that was placed in his path and he did so with ease. In his early years Tyrone played Pop-Warner football with the Valley Cottage Indians. Despite his illness he enjoyed playing sports, riding bikes, and fishing with his father. He loved any activity outdoors and any opportunity to hang out with family and friends. Tyrone grew up in Nyack, NY. He attended Nyack Public Schools up until junior high school. The family moved to Garnerville, NY in 2001. He attended North Rockland High School and he graduated in 2004. Tyrone did not allow his illness to stop him from being warm hearted and full of life. Despite being in a great deal of pain he never complained. He could light up any room with his smile and turn anyone’s bad day around with his playful personality. Tyrone was so loved by everyone who ever had the pleasure of getting to know him. You would wonder why such a great person was taken so soon. We have to remember God’s Will is always with reason. His death has given family and friends the opportunity to stop and realize how precious life truly is. Life’s only certainty is death and it can occur at any time. If Tyrone passed on any lesson it was to enjoy life exactly how God gifts it to you. This is the time for loved ones to come together and project love in the face of such a tremendous loss. May Tyrone continue to smile bright and rest in eternal peace.
