Taisija Popov, long time Nyack resident, born in Latvia on May 3, 1921 passed away peacefully on August 20, 2016 at the age of 95 in Ramapo Manor Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Vsevolod. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her daughter Lydia Harran and son-in-law George, her son George and daughter-in-law Iryna, and son Andrej and daughter-in-law Johnnie Sue. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her granddaughters Valerie and Alexis Popov Taisija was devout in her Russian Orthodox beliefs and was a founding member of the Holy Virgin Protection Russian Orthodox Church in Nyack. Daisy worked for many years at Korvettes Department Store in Nanuet. In later years, she was an Ombudsman through the Rockland County Office of Aging and volunteered at Tolstoy Nursing Home. She was very proud of the many awards and certificates that she received for her time, service and compassion. Taisja will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
