Mildred Walter passed away peacefully at home Saturday, June 18 at the age of 92. She was born in Brooklyn , NY and lived in South Nyack for almost 60 years. She was the youngest of six sisters and the last surviving sibling. After high school Mildred, with her true spirit of adventure, joined the WAC’s and was stationed in Alaska. Her husband, Wally, died in 2008. Mildred is survived by her three loving children, Hillary (Roger Dubin-husband), Abbe and Bruce (Quynh Pham-wife) and her grandchildren, Jared and Tara Dubin. A constant source of joy and love are all her nieces, nephews and cousins on both sides. Their constant communication and visits were appreciated by Mildred to the end. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 20 at 11 AM at Hannemann Funeral Home in Nyack. Burial will be private. Shiva will be observed at her home in South Nyack on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 – 4:30 and 6:30 – 9pm.
