Charles Mifflin Tocantins

Charles “Charlie” Mifflin Tocantins, 56, of Long Island City, New York, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Charlie was born in San Francisco, California on May 21, 1960. He graduated from Lakeside School in Seattle and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington. Charlie was married to Jill M. Lehman, in Costa Rica, on May 2, 2009; they were married 7 years. Charlie was a kind, compassionate, and fun loving person that could make anyone laugh with his quick wit and crazy faces. Charlie is survived by his wife Jill; his 2 siblings Bill H. Tocantins and Meg L. Tocantins; and the rest of his family and friends. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Tocantins and Margaret H. Tocantins. Visitation will be held at 6 – 9PM on September 9, 2016 at Redden’s Funeral Home 325 W. 14th Street, New York, NY 10014. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Lustgarten Foundation https://www.lustgarten.org/donate or to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center https://giving.mskcc.org/ The family of Charles Tocantins wishes to thank Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for all of their care and support.
