STEPHANIE MARIE REIS

MASSENA- Stephanie Marie Reis, 28, of 90 East Hatfield, passed away prematurely Friday, July 29, 2016.

Stephanie was born July 8, 1988 in Mount Pleasant, SC, daughter of Timothy John Reis and Katherine LaPrade Smith. She graduated high school in St. Regis Falls and studied to be a Dental Hygienist at Ivy Tech in Indiana.

She served in the US Navy from 2006 until her honorable discharge in 2010. Stephanie was a Gunners Mate 3rd Class, stationed in San Diego, CA, and served on the USS Germantown and then on the USS Howard. Her decorations included the Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Stephanie is survived by her eight-year-old daughter and pride of her life, Luxi Ann Liston of Massena; her mother Katherine LaPrade Smith and her partner Randy Brunelle of Malone; her father Timothy John Reis of Pendleton, IN; her siblings, Michael Carl Smith of Malone; and Justin and Jessica Reis, both of Indiana; her ex-step father, Mickey Smith of Dickinson Center; her maternal grandparents, Dawna and Bill Stewart of Brasher Falls, and Brian and Lisa LaPrade of Massena; her paternal grandparents, John and Connie Reis of Indiana; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.
