<p>MASSENA – After a valiant battle with cancer, Mrs. Marsha S. Mattice, 66, of 49 ½ Maple Street, passed away early Thursday morning, August 11, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side.</p><p><br></p><p>Marsha was born January 23, 1950 in Massena, the daughter of the late James S. and Eva Brothers Murray. She was a graduate of Massena High School and attended Mater Dei College. On March 1, 1967, she married Raymond G. Love at the Massena First United Methodist Church and on November 25, 1967, their marriage was blessed at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Louisville. Raymond predeceased her on April 21, 1991. On June 6, 1992, she married Harold S. Mattice in the Andrews Street Park with Justice Leon Pennell, officiating. </p><p><br></p><p>Marsha worked in various restaurants throughout her life including, The Village Inn, McDonalds, Jreck’s Subs, and Sbarro’s. She also was a tax preparer, working for H&amp;R Block and privately for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Marine Corp League Auxiliary, holding offices in both organizations throughout the years. She enjoyed going to and playing Bingo, sewing, and baking. She also cherished the times she spent visiting with her family and friends, especially her frequent telephone visits with her dear friend, Peggy Clemo. </p><p><br></p><p>Marsha is survived by her husband, Harold; her daughters, Paula Radel and her husband, Peter of Brasher; Melody Gravel and her companion, Douglas Taillon of Massena; Janice Clark and her companion, Robert Baker of Massena; and Raeann Clark and her husband, Tom Jr. of Massena; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; her brother, Robert E. Murray of Massena; many nieces and nephews, and her beloved feline babies.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents and her first husband, Raymond; she was predeceased by a great grandson, Jordan Love, who lived 15 hours, on December 15, 2009; her brother, Sam Murray on August 3, 2014 and her sister, Janice E. Boord on February 26, 1991.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may call that the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Monday 4-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Mark Reilly, celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena. The family kindly invites all to join them after the burial at the Marine Corps League on Maple Street, as they will continue to celebrate Marsha’s life.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Massena Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

Marsha was born January 23, 1950 in Massena, the daughter of the late James S. and Eva Brothers Murray. She was a graduate of Massena High School and attended Mater Dei College.
