AKWESASNE – Mrs. Geraldine E. Gray, 62, of 42 Smoke Road, passed away late Sunday evening, August 7, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Thursday.

Geraldine was born April 8, 1954 in Cornwall, Ontario, the daughter of the late Alexander and Priscilla George Martin and attended Salmon River Central Schools. On August 24, 1974, she married John William Gray at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. Francis Arsenault, celebrating. John predeceased her on November 6, 2006.

Geraldine was a homemaker, who worked for a short time as home health aide. She was a communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church and enjoyed beading and spending time with her family.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Patrick and Brandy Gray of St. Regis; Lindsey Gray of Akwesasne; and Abraham Gray and his companion, Sierra Johnson Sunday of Akwesasne; her grandchildren, Ava, Gavin, Isaiah, Colonie, Cayden, Journey, Isaac, Angelina, Raun, and Storm; her sisters, Kallen Martin of Syracuse and Sally Martin of Akwesasne; her brother, Victor Martin of Akwesasne; two aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Akwesasne Homemakers starting 4:00 PM Wednesday until 10:00 Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11:00 AM at St. Regis Catholic Church with Rev. John L. Downs, officiating. Cremation will follow.
