Frank W. Laughing

AKWESASNE – Mr. Frank W. Laughing, Sr., 75, of 513 Cook Road, suddenly passed away Friday evening, September 2, 2016 at Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Frank was born June 21, 1941 in Akwesasne, the son of the late Angus J. and Ida Currotte Laughing and attended Mohawk schools. Frank was an ironworker for Local 17 out of Cleveland, Ohio. He also had a bone carving business, Frank Laughing and Sons. In his retirement, he kept himself busy building Bar BQ grills. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was at his happiest when he saw the smiles he put on their faces.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; 10 children, Shawn Costillo (Hector), Monica Nieves, Sherri Laughing (Hubert), Frank Laughing (Jennifer), Mike Laughing (Shawn), Rhonda (Terry), Fred (Elaine), Eric (Margie), Heather (Abe Jr.), and Julie; 27 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He also survived by his sisters, Brenda (Bryan) Garrow, Caroline (Randy) Bigtree; 3 brothers, James P. Laughing, Gerald A. (Debbie) Laughing, and Anthony L. (Dinker) Laughing; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by a brother, Billy; and twin sisters, Judy and Julia; and 3 grandchildren.

Friends may call starting 7:00 PM Sunday at Kanienkehaha Kanonsesneh Longhouse until Tuesday 1:00 PM when the funeral ceremony will take place.
