MASSENA CENTER – Mr. Carl W. Brock, 78, was called home to the Lord in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 25, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Home in Ogdensburg after a lengthy illness.

After his retirement, he remained active with the union, serving on the float committee and also on the solidarity committee for the annual Labor Day Parade. As a young man, he was active with the Future Farmers of America and the Boy Scouts. He served as a director on the Massena Center Cemetery Association, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #513, Elks Lodge #1702, Moose Lodge #1110, Sons of the Amvets Post #4, and Sons of the American Legion Post #79. He was formerly a member of the St. Lawrence County Motor Cycle Club, where he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He cherished the time he was able to spend outdoors – fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, gardening – especially his apple trees and asparagus – it all gave him great comfort. He also played football for the Massena Warriors for 12 years, softball with the Massena Industrial League, and fastball with North End Softball League in Cornwall. Carl also dedicated a great amount of time to his church, Grace United Methodist, as a member and trustee for many years.
