MASSENA – Mr. Albert L. “Al” Hynes, 57, of 84 Liberty Ave, passed away late Saturday evening, August 20, 2016 at the home of his daughter, Melissa, after a short, sudden illness.

Al was born June 30, 1959 in Malone, the son of the late William and Ethel Russell Hynes and attended schools in Malone. He married Barbara M. LaRue on July 14, 2012 in Veterans Memorial Park, Massena, with Mayor James Hidy, officiating.

Al worked for a time at Tru-Stitch in Malone and later at Sears in Massena until becoming disabled. He was a car buff, who enjoyed working on them and watching NASCAR. Al also enjoyed fishing, bowling, cooking, crocheting, computer games, and collecting cars and wheat pennies. He cherished many cups of coffee and the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Melissa Hynes-Conto and her partner of Massena; Kissie Hynes of Union, South Carolina; Alexander and Rebecca Hynes, both at home; his grandchildren, Kaylynn, Baley, Devin, Hailey, and Chad; and a great grandson, Carson.

He is also survived by his sisters, Linda and Vernon Spinner of Plattsburgh and Ann Hynes of North Bangor; his brothers, Ronald and Julie Hynes of Alabama; James and Christie Hynes of Burke; Rickie and Nancy Hynes of Bombay; Kenneth Hynes of Constable; and John and Sherry Hynes of Bombay; his father-in-law, Ronald LaRue of Massena; his mother-in-law, Josephine Wilson of Massena; brother-in-law, Terry and Brooke LaRue of Massena; sister-in-law, Debbie LaRue of Massena; and many nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Michael P. and Joseph Hynes.
