Silvan Bromfield was born on February 19, 1923 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica in the West Indies. The eldest son of Vivian Bromfield and Francella Gayle, he received his formal and college education in Jamaica.
While in Jamaica, he worked alongside his father for many years as a business manager in the town of Mandeville.
Silvan later migrated to London, England where he worked for a private company for many years. He married Phyllis G. McFarlane in London and that union produced three children; Maxine, Lolita and Paul.
Silvan later migrated to American to gain more experience across the Atlantic. Shortly after coming to America, he started what would become an eighteen year career working at Macy’s Department Store.
Silvan was baptized under the Leadership of Elder H.J. Taylor of The Apostolic Church of Christ at 883 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn, New York. He received the Holy Spirit in a Morning Glory prayer service at a Convocation in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1978 he was led by the Holy Spirit to assist Elder Blackwood with a new work in Queens, New York at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ Apostolic where we was in the position as Deacon.
On October 1, 2016, God chose to call him home. He left behind his loving family, wife Phyllis, children Leonard, Joyce, Beverley, Maxine, Paul and Lolita (Darrell), a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as a large church family and friends.
