Ronald Youngblood Jamaica, New York Obituary

Ronald Youngblood

Ronald Keith Youngblood was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 17th, 1957. From a young age, Ronald was very attentive to his studies, which resulted in him attending the gifted and talented program at Junior High School 217, as well as graduating in good standing from Flushing High School in Queens, New York. Though he had a love for English literature, Ronald was also a gifted artist and had an eye for detail. Not wanting to choose between the two, Ronald attended the University of Cincinnati and majored in Industrial Design and English Literature. He later graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1983 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Environmental Design. Ronald's creativity and attention to detail made him a well sought after designer. And even though he worked with various architectural firms, he didn't let his love for literature just lay dormant. When time allowed, he would work as a substitute English teacher for the Department of Education in New York. He believed in the importance of getting a good education and always encouraged and helped others to do so. Ronald is preceded in death by his father Joseph Youngblood Jr. He leaves to mourn: A loving mother Bettye Youngblood, his stepdaughter, Akilah Charlemagne (Chev) and grandson Holden; Sisters, JoAnn Youngblood King, Deirdre Garrett-Harris (Rickey); Brothers, Alvin Youngblood (Keva), Joseph Youngblood III (Kim), Aloysious Brown (Gail); Aunts, Evelyn Burns, Miriam Wimbley, Erie Allen, Sarah Moss and Vandilla Youngblood; Nieces, Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
