Julia Elise Haynie Jamaica, New York Obituary

Julia Elise Haynie

Safe in the arms of our almighty God, Julia Elease Haynie quietly and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday October 15, 2016 at Mt Sinai Hospital of Queens NY. God released her from pain and suffering to enter into the realm of peace and joy. Julia was born on June 5, 1933 to the late William and Corrie Haynie in Seneca, South Carolina. She had been suffering from Congestive Heart Failure for years and was called home on October 15, 2016. Julia attended Aggry High School in Landis North Carolina where she graduated at the age of 16. She moved to New York shortly thereafter and has resided here until her passing. She worked as a Home Attendant most of her life doing what she was very good at, taking care of people. She gave birth to her first child Iris Haynie (pre-deceased), on February 16, 1955 and son Clyde Hagan on August 2, 1966. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved cooking and had no problem opening her doors to anyone in need. As the matriarch of the family she often shared her wisdom and voiced her opinion on any subject whether she was right or wrong. She was known as Aunt Julia to many outside of the family and as JuJu to those in the family. She was also known as Ma Haynie to all at Tabernacle of Praises where her Collard Greens and Mac and Cheese were always welcomed. When she wasn’t watching the Word Channel, she enjoyed engaging in her favorite past time, playing Candy Crush or as she would eloquently put it ‘Crushing Candy’!! The family is truly grateful to God for blessing her to remain in her right mind. Up until the very end she was able to recognize her loved ones, speak to many on the phone from her hospital bed and also laugh and sing praises to her God until she informed us that she was tired and wanted to go to sleep. The last song she sang with us was ‘Put a praise on it!’ She sang that song with conviction until she tired herself out. She left this world in peace knowing that her son and grandkids, her brother and sister and all that she was able to communicate with during her final days, knew that she loved them. She is survived by her longtime companion Clyde Hagan Sr. of Ocala Florida, her son Clyde (Helene) Hagan of West Babylon NY, 5 Grandchildren, Monique (Shameek) Jackson of Woodbridge Virginia, Iesha Hickson of West Babylon NY, Iris McMillan of Staten Island, Staff Sgt. William (Candice) Perez of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Kris Parham of Brooklyn NY and Chance Earl Mason of Woodbridge Virginia. She also had 9 Great-grandchildren, Maniah, Jasmin, Michael, Paige, Jayla, Noah, Mackenzie, Kaidence and Kishon. Her sister Shirley McKay of Rialto California and brother Billy Wayne Haynie of Albany NY. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and, friends. Lovingly Submitted by the Family
