Carolyn Webb Obituary

Carolyn H. Webb was born on June 13, 1923 in Sparta, GA to the late Robert Harper and Doll Ingram Harper. She was educated in the Hunts Chapel School system. As a young woman, she moved to New York where she became a member with the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend S.L. Hunt. She served in different capacities, Usher Board and as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed working with the teenagers, watched them flourish as they learned about the “Greatest Story Ever Told” through the books of the Bible. In her later years, Reverend Evan D. Gray, her special son in Christ, appointed her to the Mother’s Board. From that time on she was well known as one of the Moms of the Church. Mother Webb was loving, kind, warmhearted and strong-willed. She was often asked to be Chairperson of many church ministries, e.g. Church & Pastors’ anniversaries and was happy to serve. She was a mother to her children and caretaker to others as well as a friend to all. To know her was to love, respect and admire her. If you were ever in her presence for a minute you would be guaranteed to smile. She could keep a conversation going forever and talk on many topics. She worked hard throughout her life raising her children and laying a firm foundation for them to stand strong and be reliable, responsible adults. Once her children became of school age, she returned to the workforce as a Registry Clerk for the United States Post Office where she worked until her retirement in 1989. Our Lord and savior called Carolyn home suddenly on June 29, 2016. She will now be reunited with her husband Leon U. Webb, sons, Ronald and Roland Webb, and her grandson, Craig C. Flowers. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy; daughters Carole L. Flowers and Gloria Webb, sons Reginald Van Webb and Leon U. Webb, granddaughters Caryn M. Flowers, Kelli W. Webb, grandsons Reginald V. Webb and Ryan C. Webb Fletcher, a son-in-law Colbert Flowers, two daughters-in-law Carmen M. Webb and Jennifer Webb, a sister Susie M. Wooten, two sisters-in-law Lucille Harper and Anna Harper, many loving nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned And let her works bring her praise at the City Gate. Proverbs 31 Rest with assurance Mom you have surely run the race and fought the good fight and now you deserve your eternal rest. We love you but God loves you best. Lovingly submitted, The Family
