Nicolas Rivera, 29, a lifelong area resident, died on September 11, 2016 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital. Nico was born on October 15, 1986 and was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 2006. Nico truly loved the Lord. He was baptized at the Tabernacle of Christ Church in Beacon. He was a charming young man who enjoyed spending time with his family, and making people laugh. Nico would often tell his family “I’ve got swag” and he did! Nico is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara Alvarez Soto and Wilfredo Soto of Wappingers Falls; his father, Isaia Rivera of Puerto Rico; his siblings, Louis Roman, Isaia Rivera Jr., Yolanda Rivera, Robert Rivera, Maritza Rivera, and Meliza Rivera; his nieces, Rosalina Diebella, Sophia Rivera and Julianna Steinbach; his nephew, Robert Rivera Jr.; and his grandmothers, Enoelia Alvarez and Angelina Pacheco. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12pm at the funeral home followed by interment in Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
