On August 3, 2016, Marie Minasi, 93, entered into eternal rest at her home. Marie was born in Canton, Ohio on February 20, 1923 to Louise Perrotti Columbo and Joseph Columbo. Marie married her love, Joseph Minasi, Sr., on June 15 1947 in New Rochelle, NY. They shared 55 years of marriage before he passed away on August 8, 2002. Her life revolved around her family. She was an incredible cook and friends and family always enjoyed the feasts she prepared. She was always there to listen and help with her children’s and friends’ problems and concerns. She made everyone who entered her home feel welcomed and loved. It was a most wonderful experience to grow up in a home with so much love. She taught us to always be there for one another with unconditional love. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Our Mom will live through us and remain forever in our hearts. She is survived by her five children: Mary and her husband Tommy Starr, Vinnie and his wife Cathy, Diane and her husband Vince Sauter, Michael and his wife, Lori and Joseph Jr. and his wife, Patricia; her grandchildren who meant the world to her: Christina, Vinny, Joseph, Deanna, Karen, Natalia, David, Luke, Alena; and great grandchildren, Corina, Giana and Hunter. Marie was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her sisters Caroline and Florence, and her brothers, Joseph, Frank and Dominick Columbo. The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who assisted in her care especially Hospice nurse Deanne Braun and aide Edie Cronk for their expertise, love and compassion. Special thanks to our home health aide Nadia Kutz Reed for her respect, understanding, patience, loving care and compassion. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Monday, August 8, at 10am.
