Elizabeth F. “Betty” Munson, 100, a resident of Dutchess County for 62 years, died peacefully on August 16, 2016 at the Elant at Fishkill where she has made her home for the last 12 years. Born in New York City on May 4, 1916, she was the daughter of Francis and Florence Ungar Lang. Betty was employed as a business office representative for New York Telephone Company in the Bronx for 22 years until her retirement in 1958 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church where she served on the Women’s Guild. On September 3, 1938 at St. Raymond’s Church in the Bronx, Betty married Edwin A. Munson who predeceased her on December 25, 2003. She is survived by her niece, Patricia Ryan; her cousin, Father Bill Foley; many great nieces and great nephews; and many wonderful friends. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.
