Fort Edward Anita M. (Amorosi) Arcuri, 101, of Fort Edward passed away peacefully on Monday October 24, 2016 at The Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Queensbury. Anita was born on September 10, 1915 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Elvira (Sciarretta) Amorosi. Anita was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph Church in Fort Edward. She graduated as Salutatorian of the Fort Edward High School Class of 1933. After graduation, she went to work for 20 years at Scott Paper Co. in Fort Edward. Anita enjoyed traveling, having been to Hawaii, visited family in Italy, saw Elvis in Las Vegas, sat on the beach in New Hampshire in her 70’s and traveled to New York City and Disney World with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed eating out well into her 90’s and always judged a restaurant by the coffee they served. Anita was predeceased by her husband Carl J. Arcuri, a great grandson, Dominic Calabrese, a brother, Donald Amorosi and a sister Rose Barlow. Left to cherish her memory include her 4 sons, Carl T. and his wife Linda of Hudson Falls, David of Hudson Falls, Michael and his wife Shari of New Jersey, and Charles and his wife Laurie of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Michele and her significant other, Jack Sperry, John, Laurie & Scott Calabrese, Erin & Lance Mann, Rachael, Jackie, Corinne, and Carla; 3 great grandchildren, Delaney, Giuliana and Adrian; as well as numerous nieces, nephews including 2 special nieces, Mary Ellen Barlow and Heather Fisher Palmer. Friends may call from 4 to 6pm on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 164 Broadway, Fort Edward. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Edward. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anita’s memory to the charity of One’s choice. The family wishes to thank the residents and staff at the Stanton for their friendship and compassionate care extended to Anita. A special Thank You to Lena French, Anita’s roommate at the Stanton for watching over her and staying with her to the end.
