Louis Peter Sordi Obituary

Louis “Louie” P. Sordi, a Fishkill resident since 2010 and formerly of Pleasantville and Brooklyn, died suddenly on Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.


Son of the late Luciano and Albina (Endrizzi) Sordi, he was born in Brooklyn on November 24, 1964. Louie had a lifelong career as an electrician. He received his certification from Queensborough Community College and dedicated many years to the craft. He truly loved his trade and always tried to challenge himself and improve his skills. He worked for Lippolis Electric in Pelham for 15 years.


Affectionately known to his relatives & friends as “Big Lou”, he will be remembered for having a big heart and treating everyone with kindness and respect. He spent his final hours doing what he truly loved – riding his motorcycle. He was an avid motorcyclist and was affiliated with the Bishops Motorcycle Club.

On November 21, 2007, he married Nicole R. Mariani in Briarcliff Manor. Nikki survives at home in Fishkill, along with their daughter Annamarie – whom Louie loved and cherished above all else.


He is also survived by his brother, John Sordi & his wife Lynn of Yonkers; his sisters, Donna and Roseanne; his mother-in-law, AnnaMarie DiNapoli & her partner Mel Kaufman of Jefferson Valley; his father-in-law, Raymond Mariani, Jr. of Valhalla; his sister-in-law, Tina LaSalle & her husband John of Hawthorne; and his brother-in-law, Frank Mariani of New York City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.


Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 14 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an education fund that has been established for Annamarie. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
