Joyce E. Coniglio, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2 PM at St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, 2950 Lakeview Ave., with Rev. Harris Hoekwater officiating. A private burial will take place at a later time at Hamilton Cemetery in Decatur. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Joyce was born on August 29, 1934, in Dowagiac to Kenneth & Ilah (Vanderhoof) Yund. She graduated from Lawrence High School and continued her education at Western Michigan University where she earned a degree from their College of Business. For over 25 years, Joyce worked as a professional emergency manager for the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of the St. Joseph F.O.P. # 96, Lawrence High School Alumni Association, Keeler Thursday Club and the Red Hat Society. She was also a proud member of St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered her time on numerous mission trips. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan. Joyce enjoyed traveling, being on the family farm in Decatur, and baking. She was a social butterfly and loved to hear and share stories with everyone. Joyce was an incredible lady and will be missed dearly by all. Joyce is survived by her cousins, Kelly (Joseph) Jerue of Decatur and Kimberly Weldy of Decatur; second cousin, Mikaela Jerue of Decatur; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth (1989) and Ilah (2003).
