Donna Mae Horning of Clearview Drive, Arcade passed peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital in Springville. She was 88 years old. She was born September 3, 1927 in Arcade a daughter of the late Hyland and Rose (Zilker) Day Sr. She was a member of the Arcade United Church of Christ Congregational, the Home Bureau, and the Arcade Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She was a clerk for the New York State unemployment office in Arcade. She had previously worked at Motorola and was a bookkeeper at the GLF Feed Mill both in Arcade. Her husband, Eugene H. Horning who she married June 29, 1946 in Sardinia, NY passed away in 1989. She is survived by her children: Jeri (Terry) Hobin of Arcade and Randy (Kym) Horning of Leroy; her daughter-in-law: Diane Roberts of Arcade; her siblings: Hyland (late Dorothy) Day Jr. and Shirley (late Kermit) Haggerty of Arcade; five grandchildren: Denise (Gary) Feltz of East Concord, Shannon (Tadd) King of Freedom, Matthew (Brii Nicometi) Hobin of Freedom, Dan (Monica) Horning of Maine and Josh Horning of Leroy; seven great-grandchildren: Brent (Chelsea) Owens, Ryan Owens, Trevor Owens, Emmah Hobin, Brody King, Bryson King and Colton Hobin; also survived by a great-great grandson: Grayson Owens as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son: Gary Horning; her siblings: Warren Day, Betty (Donald) Whiting, Ralph Day, Gordon (Charlotte) Day, Stewart (Betty) Day, LaVerne (Ardean) Day and Winifred (Elwyn) Pixley.
