Catherine L. Dievendorf Obituary

Catherine L. Dievendorf of Sherman Avenue, Arcade and formerly of Fort Plain, NY died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital in Springville at the age of 65. She was born April 10, 1951 in Amsterdam, NY a daughter of the late Austin and Florence (Countryman) Canipe. She was a member of the Arcade United Church of Christ Congregational and truly was a woman of faith. She was a former state officer for the Order of the Eastern Star as well as the Grand Marshall from 1992-1993. She was also a member of the former Ft. Plain Order of the Eastern Star #297. She enjoyed her family, her grandchildren, reading, jigsaw puzzles and walking her dog - Mandy. She was a special education teacher's aide for the Fort Plain Central School. Prior to being a teacher's aide, she was a LPN for the Little Falls Hospital and she was a babysitter. She is survived by her husband: Rev. Robert C. Dievendorf whom she married September 25, 1971 in Fort Plain, NY; her children: Eric (Amanda) Dievendorf of Depew, Stephanie (Ron) Paradiso of Ft. Plain and Kristine (Michael) Sizemore of O'Fallon, MO; her siblings: Steve (Eileen) Canipe of Ilion, NY, Dan (Marilyn) Canipe of Batavia, Sandy (John) Fischette of Clyde, NY, Ken (Vicki) Maxwell of Holland, MI, and Tom (Allison) Maxwell of Lufkin, TX; also survived by six grandchildren: Sarah, Anthony, Mikayla, Alyson, Brooklynn, and Dylan as well as serveral nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Austin, who passed away when she was a toddler and her mother and the man she considered her dad - Florence & Leland Maxwell. Memorials may be made to the Arcade United Church of Christ Congregational, 297 Main St., Arcade, NY 14009.
