Jeanette Montagnino

Jeanette M. Montagnino, 81 of Willard Street, Amsterdam, NY, passed away Monday morning April 11, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Amsterdam on July 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Agnes Ward Blinsinger. Jeanette was a 1952 graduate of St, Mary’s Institute in Amsterdam. Jeanette was lastly employed at Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville as a receptionist. She was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Amsterdam. Jeanette loved spending time with her family and was a big fan of The Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. She also loved her dog Baby. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Montagnino who she married October 17, 1952, one son Vincent J. Montagnino (Pamela) of Amsterdam, two daughters, Michele M. Montagnino of Amsterdam and Joanne Korona (Roy) of Fort Johnson, three brothers, Robert Blinsinger (Susan), Gerald Blinsinger and David Blinsinger all of Amsterdam, one sister, Nola Szypula of Amsterdam, NY., three grandchildren, Amy Beth Carter, Bryan Carter (Tiffany) and Joseph Montagnino, and one great grandson, Orion Carter. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Jeanette was also predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Ronald Blinsinger, her sister-in-law, Margaret Blinsinger and her brother-in-law, Dr. William Szypula. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY; followed at 11:15 by a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche M.S. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary.
